BOSTON and NEW YORK, Jan. 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Spark Capital (http://www.sparkcapital.com/) today announced the promotion of Mo Koyfman to general partner. Koyfman, who joined Spark Capital as principal in 2008, will be based in the firm's New York City office. He'll continue to focus largely on consumer Web and mobile investments with a specific interest in businesses that exhibit network or marketplace dynamics and large sectors still ripe for disruption such as education and wellness. Since joining Spark, Koyfman has led the firm's investments in innovative companies, including Skillshare, Work Market, Svpply, gdgt, Aviary and more.

Prior to joining Spark, Mo held a variety of strategic, transactional and operational roles at IAC (NASDAQ: IACI). He most recently served as chief operating officer of Connected Ventures, parent of CollegeHumor.com, BustedTees.com and Vimeo.com, and previously held the roles of vice president of programming and vice president of mergers & acquisitions. Koyfman began his career as an investment banker at Bear Stearns, where he focused on mergers & acquisitions and capital raising in the media, entertainment and technology sectors.
