Mr. Bertrand Dufour, President and CEO of Emseco is pleased to announce that he has received all results from the exploration work done during the early season of 2008 field season, on their mining properties near Thetford Mines. The results have confirmed the presence of substantial platinum-palladium-rhodium (PGE) mineralisation associated with chromite layers in pyroxenite unit over several meters.

As presented in the press release dated of March 6th of 2008, a special attention has been given to the Starchrome showing. Two grabs samples from the chromite mineralization of the same showing gave high PGE values. The results for grab sample SC-1 graded 15.93 g/t Pt+Pd. The same sample indicates high rhodium value of 0,457 ppm.

Amseco has undertaken a detailed channel sampling of the showing. All results (21) from the same channel samples, oriented 330º, returned highly anomalous mineralization with composite assays up to 21.00 metres of 1.05 g/t platinum (Pt), 0.59 g/t palladium (pd), 0.04 g/t rhodium (Rh) and 2.54 % of chromium (Cr). This composite include at least three highly mineralized zones over several metres. One of the best zones gave 6 metres of 5.20 g/t Pt+Pd+Rh and 7.01 % Cr.

The pyroxenite rock, that hosts the main mineralized zone, is part of the Thetford mines ophiolitic complex which is well known for its chromium potential. Following the results from the channel sampling further work will be done on that zone. The Starchrome showing is composed of an anastamosing network of massive to antinodular, PGE-enriched chromitite veins, separated from medium-grained foliated websteritic host rocks by a coarse-grained orthopyroxenite reaction riot 2-10 cm. Veins and breccia fills of chromitite enriched in PGEs cut and replace pyroxenites. A study from Bedard and al. (2007) suggest that these PGE ores are associated with pre-obduction paleonormal faults, and may have been generated from Cl-PGE-enriched aqueous fluids that concentrated in structural traps above large boninitic sills that underplated the crust and differentiated. Movements along some of these faults may have opened up channels, allowing PGE-enriched fluids to escape and migrate up along the faults, possibly depositing ores as a result of decompression, vesiculation, or fluid mixing.
